Adolescent (ages 12-17)
I thinking that at 12 yrs old that is when children is expose to to smoking and drug use. According to article smoking and adolescence In 2010, about 2.6 million American adolescents reported using a tobacco product. That is a lot of adolescents I wonder if the numbers are up in 2016. Also according to the article In that same year it was found that nearly 60 percent of new smokers were under the age of 18 when they first smoked a cigarette. Of smokers under age 18, more than 6 million will likely die prematurely from a smoking-related disease.

Young adults (18-25)
I believe that the people that start smoking at a young age continue to smoke as a young adult and some young adults start to smoke at the age 18. According to the article college- age and young adults.Daily marijuana use among college-aged young adults is at its highest since 1980, surpassing daily cigarette smoking for the first time in 2014. This mean smoking has rise and will continue to rise.

This shows how the marijuana among college student rise.

First hand, second hand, and third hand smoke

Smoking can harm smokers and nonsmoker. According to my health.com there are 7,000 chemical in tobacco and it can damage every organ in the body.Try not to smoke and don't permit yourself to be presented to smoke since second-hand smoke and third-hand smoke are pretty much as fatal as direct smoke. Tobacco smoke can be put in three categories which is

  1. First hand
  2. second hand
  3. third hand
I don't smoke,so I interview some one who do some. I ask them why do they smoke? how do it make them feel? do your lungs weaken after you smoke? They answer was that they smoke because they are stressed about bills and family relation. It make them feel relives after they smoke. I ask them the last question they answer was they don't the lungs weaken, but they know that they are getting weaker.
According to my health.com second hand smoke is side stream and main stream. Side stream smoke is the smoke that originates from the blazing end of a cigarette and main stream smoke is the smoke breathed out by the smoker. Side stream smoke makes up about 85% of second-hand smoke. why it that? I think because they only inhale 15% and blow the rest out into the air which lead to third hand smoke.
I believe that third hand smoke is the most dangerous because the residue stay in the carpet, couches, beds, and other furniture.
according to my health.com Third-hand smoke is made up of the residue and gases of tobacco smoke it includes

    1. includes the gases that go back into the air
    2.  stays on surfaces and in dust after the tobacco has been smoked
    3. builds up on surfaces, furniture, clothing, drapes, and carpets
    4. reacts with other elements in the environment to make more pollution
This what we can do to stop this is
    1. Stop smoking
    2. If you want to smoke don't harm other smoke outside to reduce third hand and second hand smoke
    3. Support smoke free

    Smoking and drug use

                                                        Smoking and Drug use

Did you know smoking increase your risk of getting Lung disease like pneumonia, emphysema, and chronic bronchitis. According to my health organization  page the number one reason why teens smoke is because they have parents who smokes. I believe that this is true because I know people who have kids that smoke and I know people who smoke with their child. I also believe that parents are the most compelling individual in their life. Other than parents knowing that their child peer pressure is another reason why teen smoke. I know peer pressure is real because of past experience I had in high school and even college I had some pressure moments. Being peer pressure in high school some teen really don't know what can smoking cause the just know that you not suppose to do it and it bad for you,bu smoking can cause lung disease, which can damage the air way of your lungs.

Regardless of how you smoke it,tobacco is perilous to your well being and influences your whole body. These effect maybe long term or short term. Which one you think that can be long term or short term? Are there any long term or short term effects that you know that I didn't say? Comment.
Did you know that the overall costs of alcohol abuse amount to $224 billion annually with the cost to the health care system accounting for approximately $25 billion? One drug use that we can relate as college students is alcohol. According to national institutes of health the standard drinking is

    • 12 ounces of beer
    • 8 ounces of malt liquor
    • 5 ounce of table wine
    • 1.5 ounce of liquor
As college students we know that we go over 12 ounce of beer and for the people that drink liquor we know that we don't drink 1.5 ounce, but we don't think about how alcohol can affect our brain. I think alcohol can affect our brain short term and long term. can you think of some ways how alcohol can affect your brain? Long term and short term? Alcohol can also affect your body. it can affect your memory such as people do things that they may not remember or do things that they will regrets.
As I been on campus I have see how people act when they under the influence . They can't walk it because they are weak. they also talking slur, and when they talking slur that means they sleep or going black out. Most of them throw up because they system can't take the liquor and it's because they didn't eat enough so that the liquor can soak up. Have you see any drunk people? How did they act?
