Did you know smoking increase your risk of getting Lung disease like pneumonia, emphysema, and chronic bronchitis. According to my health organization page the number one reason why teens smoke is because they have parents who smokes. I believe that this is true because I know people who have kids that smoke and I know people who smoke with their child. I also believe that parents are the most compelling individual in their life. Other than parents knowing that their child peer pressure is another reason why teen smoke. I know peer pressure is real because of past experience I had in high school and even college I had some pressure moments. Being peer pressure in high school some teen really don't know what can smoking cause the just know that you not suppose to do it and it bad for you,bu smoking can cause lung disease, which can damage the air way of your lungs.

These effect maybe long term or short term. Which one you think that can be long term or short term? Are there any long term or short term effects that you know that I didn't say? Comment.
Did you know that the overall costs of alcohol abuse amount to $224 billion annually with the cost to the health care system accounting for approximately $25 billion? One drug use that we can relate as college students is alcohol. According to national institutes of health the standard drinking is
- 12 ounces of beer
- 8 ounces of malt liquor
- 5 ounce of table wine
- 1.5 ounce of liquor
As I been on campus I have see how people act when they under the influence . They can't walk it because they are weak. they also talking slur, and when they talking slur that means they sleep or going black out. Most of them throw up because they system can't take the liquor and it's because they didn't eat enough so that the liquor can soak up. Have you see any drunk people? How did they act?

Hey Deja, I really liked that you used pictures in your blog, it really helps grab the audiences' attention. It is really interesting that you brought up that smoking increases the chances of getting pneumonia, emphysema, and chronic bronchitis. I did not know that.
ReplyDeleteInteresting that you brought up peer pressure as well. I think that living on a college campus and going to parties definitely increases the chances of peer pressure. I see it all the time. And no one wants to say no because then they will seem "uncool".
What are some short and long term effects of alcohol? I know that short term effects can be blacking out and not remembering what happened and long term can be liver failure.
I liked that you choose to add images into your post, that caught my attention. It was nice that you related it back to college students and even here at Eastern. You were able to reach your audience that way. And it was nice that you gave us a link for more information. It was crazy to see how much money goes into that! I look forward to your future posts!
ReplyDeleteAdding pictures and the specific amounts of alcohol in this was great. The pictures caught my attention immediately. Understanding the amounts of alcohol in different drinks is SO SO SO important! Looking at the amount of money spent on smoking is just nuts! I figured it would be a lot, but never that much!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a very good way to keep getting your point across by posting the pictures of the lungs because who want their lungs to look like that. I also liked how to brought it back to college students here on campus.
ReplyDeleteDeja,
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of the healthy and non healthy lung. It is one of my favorites because people see this and typically are disgusted by it. I believe it is our job to show people what their body may look like if I also enjoyed the part about alcohol consumption. Your, "did you know" questions then responses are great as well.
sorry, I did not finish my comment in the middle!
Delete- may look like if someone continues to smoke.
